Reviews?

Hi!
So, i've been reading some blogs lately and all the girlies have been doing reviews on some make-up products and even perfumes etc. I'm the sort of person who would love to review products (not for money, just the fact that I love trying out new products!) Especially around this time of year, it's always hard to buy gift sets and things for friends, because half the stuff I buy, I actually haven't even used myself so I never know if it's good or not.
As i'm a make-up artist too, I'm always looking for new products to use and add to my kit.

Here's my own collection of lipsticks.. :

I have a few MAC lipsticks in there - my favourite one so far is 'Creme Cup' it's the newest addition to my collection, it's a pale-ish pink and sort of shimmery. It's really neutral and suits most skin tones.
I also have Vaseline, which is a MUST have in all make-up kits!
I have recently purchased some lip glosses from the Superdrug collection MUA - Make-Up Academy just to try out. I haven't used them yet, only the clear one which was average. You really can't complain about a lipgloss that cost £1!

I would happily do a review on all my lipsticks if you wanted me to? Just let me know.

The rest of yesterday..

So, I decided on what to wear yesterday.. I settled for the lace dress that I purchased from Select in town as an emergency outfit. I'm selling quite a few of my Topshop clothes etc on eBay at the moment and all funds are going towards my car. I paired the dress with a brown waist belt to make it look less oldy worldy..
I then wore black leggins with it and my beautiful Ugg boots that I got for my Birthday. It was quite cold, so I decided to put a long slouchy brown bardigan over the top and then put my hair up all messy etc. I think it went okay? I'm not really a fashionista, but I know that wearing colours like neon yellow, green and blue are definately wrong?

Please, excuse the crappiness of the picture quality and the tacky zebra print case for my iPhone. Like I said, I'm in desperate need of a new camera and a new laptop!

It's so cold!

Good Morning/Afternoon, I've just come back from helping my 'Great Uncle' with bits and pieces with my Mum and the weather isn't too warm out there! I think the car said -2? It's ridiculous.
Anywhooo, Mum asked me to come with her today to my great uncle's to help put all of his postcards in a photo album. He has this memo board in his kitchen and he has 4 layers deep of postcards, since 2001! So i decided to buy him a photo album for this 90th Birthday, which has just gone and I said i'd put all of the old post cards in the album so he has room for new ones on his memo board. So today I finally done it for him, I must admit, I did enjoy it, and it was a huge success. So, i've now done a good deed today :)
Just had yummy cheese on toast, and i'm still cold from this morning, so i've decided to run myself a nice warm bath with a sneaky bubble bar and hopefully get a bit warmer.
Boyf is playing football.. God knows how that is even possible! The cat has his head on the radiator and he even has a coat on! So I dread to think what it's like running around an open field with shorts and t-shirt on. Brrrr.
I have to go to the job centre today.. ergh. & See if I can find any jobs available. It totally sucks not having a job, I need a car god damn it!

& Then hopefully I will see the boyf after and go back to watch some films in the warm!.. I'm not looking forward to the freezing cold walk. Maybe i'll get a taxi.

Still deciding on what to wear today, I'd like to be warm (obviously) yet up to date. If that makes any sense at all. I might wear the new lace dress I bought yesterday.. or perhaps the chocolate brown jumper. I haven't decided..

So anyway, I'm now off to run my bath! Sorry for the lack of photo's in this post. I'll make sure I have some for tomorrows!

It's Almost Xmas!

Over the past few days I have purchased a few naughty things.. but not all of these pictures are of what I purchased myself. The Topshop card and Ugg boot box ( obviously not just the box ) were given to me as gifts for my 19th Birthday.

I'm not sure if you can see the label of this AMAZING candle, but it's called Strawberry Tart and it smells delicious! It's just like a Yankee candle but only cost me £3. I can't remember where I bought this.. If i remember, i'll let you guys know, but i definately recommend this flavour if you can get it in any other candle.

Ok, so originally I bought 3 different bubble bars as Xmas presents but I smelt them in my room and I was soo tempted to use them.. so i did =) I can't remember the exact name of them but I know one was pink and white mixed into one, I think it was called The Comforter. I'm not too sure.

The other ones where The Gingerbread House and the other was baby pink with a flower in it? All I know is that it is suppose to smell like Custard Creams!

I popped into my local 'Select' shop in town.. Trust me, there is only 2 decent shops in my town. The other is New Look! Anyhow, Select have their own make-up and nail varnish range.. Which I never knew, so while the lady behind the desk was putting my looooooovely brown jumper in the bag, I spotted this peachy coloured nail varnish on the stand. So i decided to buy it. I think it was about £3 max. I've now got the varnish on, so i'll let you know if and when it chips!

Another item that I bought recently is this canvas photo, I think I bought it for about £10 in another local shop. I really like it, as my room is black and white it will fit in perfectly :)

Well, this isn't an OOTD, I just randomly took a photo before I just popped to Tesco's. I actually bought this jumper which is MENS! in Tesco's a few months back, just to lounge in. The 'Big Al's' written on the front amused me, so I had to get it :)

I think this was around £10.

99p Bows from another local shop. Started wrapping all of my Christmas presents last month. I think I have 2 or 3 more presents to wrap and 2 more to buy, and I will be officially finished! It pays off to be organised sometimes. Now I know how much money I have left to spend on myself, or put towards a car!

Thursday the 2nd December was the day I received these bad boys! They are the shorter ones that go just above my ankle. They are in Chestnut and are from the USA, but here they are around £149?

Another gift from my birthday was a Topshop voucher/card. I absolutely cannot wait to spend it! & I wish I could spend it online, as my town doesn't have a Topshop :( BOOO.

Hey ho, I'll now have longer to decide what to spend it on, but i'll have to bring my boyfriend.. as he has a student card ;)

I also bought a black ruffled shrit thingy with golden spots to wear on christmas day tucked in with my black velvet shorts with gold buttons down the side.

I got a dark green scarf and mittens to match, and I also bought red mittens to wear with my red scarf that I got last year.

Oh and before I forget, I bought a clear nail varnish to put over the peachy one I bought today to make it shiney :)

07.12.2010 - Update

So, I had the most amazing time in London for my 19th Birthday. We arrived at the Hilton Trafalgar around 4-5 checked out our rooms, which we were very pleased about! Unpacked and then got ready for the ICE BAR just off REGENT STREET I think..
It was sooo cold, I hadn't eaten all day and the only drink I had was alcoholic so I wasn't feeling too good when I was freezing cold and being shoved by strangers with very loud music. It was a disappointment and I wish that they hadn't let that many people in the tiny room all at once, but hey, at least I can now say that I have been there? Haha.
We were suppose to have 40 minutes in there, but as it was sooo cold we decided to leave after 30 minutes. We then walked FOREVER in my silly heels to find a McDonalds to sit and eat in to rest my feet. All 3 McDonalds that we tried were shut and we could only take out. Baring in mind that by now it was coming up to midnight!
We eventually found a restaurant around the next corner called Fridays? Or something like that. The food was sooo good - it was my first meal of the day, I would have eaten anything!
After the meal we headed back to the hotel and I ran to the bathroom to have a nice hot bath to soak my poor feet - this was around 3pm.
Eventually, I got to sleep around 4;30 and woke up at 9am ready to pack my bags and head for Oxford Street and Selfridges.
There were a LOT of people on the streets barging back and forth. Topshop, Miss Selfridges and Dorothy Perkins were closed due to protesters raging about the tax that the owner hadn't paid..
So that was kinda a dissapointment. Anyhow, he found a tiny mall, went upstairs to see KFC and Pizza Hut next to eachother, I decided to have Pizza Hut as my Birthday meal that day :)

Well anyhow.. instead of boring you, I will share some photo's with you :)

Arghh!!

I got sooo excited about telling you all that I passed my driving test.. I forgot to tell you what my plans were for my 19th Birthday on Saturday!!
I know these blog posts are getting further and further away from make-up, which is what I first intentionally made this for.. but what the heck. People nowadays seem to be interested in what's happening in other peoples lives.
So, rant over. I'm leaving my house Friday morning with a bag packed for the Hilton Hotel in Trafalgar Square - Studio Suite. I have the Ice Bar booked for 11pm and we have 40 minutes to freeze!
We then leave the hotel at 12 and will make our way back home.
I will take LOADS of photo's and I can assure you, I will be posting them everywhere! :)

So there we have it. I'm sure I will post before I go away on my exciting yet quick vacation.

It's almost my birthday!

I'm so sorry I haven't posted on here for almost a month!
I've just recently passed my driving test and I have been searching and searching for the perfect car. I've managed to save up enough to buy a half decent car that will hopefully last me a year, at least!
But the insurance is just CRAZY! It's almost the same price as the car itself. So i've been searching high and low for things to sell on eBay to help me out a bit - I've come to the conclusion that this is a great idea. Not only do I make money.. I also get rid of the stuff that I do not need anymore & that makes room for new things :)

I went Christmas shopping yesterday in Norwich - not good. I had to wear shoes for the first time ( I mean closed in ones instead of flip flops!) They started hurting, the bags were cutting the blood off my wrists, an actimel blew up in my PB handbag, the ques were no shorter than 25 minutes & it was snowing..
Wasn't the best shopping trip in the world.. but i managed to get some presents that I really wanted to get, now all I have to do is wrap them up :)
I bought a few things for myself too;

OH! and before I publish this..
I also got a free MAC lipstick called Creme Cup. It's gorgeous!

The 5th Of November

Well, surgery is now out of the way! and i can safely say that the needles hurt so much! but i am so glad that i can wear normal closed in shoes in a few weeks and there will be no more pain :) Yaaay!
Now i'm just resting, which is easier said than done.. it's ridiculously boring. I have been watching loads and loads of youtube videos in my 2 days off work, and i came across a girl called 'CityandMakeup' she doesn't do lots of videos of make-up as such, but she is quite an interesting person to watch. Youtube has to be the most useful website if you want to learn make-up tricks etc, infact, anything! I just love it.
I have a make-up job tomorrow on a girl who's having an 18th Birthday party, as long as i rest today, i should be okay to do that tomorrow. Which will be cool :) I'll take photos!

In my last post i mentioned having bought a new set of plastic drawers to hold all of my make-up in, i'm not sure if anyone is looking to organise their kit? Or even their own, if they have that much! but i will take a photo once i have posted this and i will do a seperate blog on that in a little while for you.

Poison ivy wig is still sitting in my room, waiting for me to grab it and make it look amazing! but right now, i cannot be standing up for more than 5 minutes max, so it will just take agesssss to do, but trust me, i haven't forgot!

I'm so sorry that i haven't done a blog in over a week! Actually.. almost 2 weeks. I've been pretty busy.
So here's an update:
* For those of you who know about the Poison Ivy wig trauma.. i have finally found a wig! I didn't receive the original that i ordered, but i found one just as good in a supermarket - it's actually a halloween wig. haha. So i will be doing that look very very soon.
* Yesterday i purchased this massive set of plastic drawers, and i organised my whole kit (which used to be piled up in a plastic bow under my bed) into sections - Foundations/Concealers/Powders/Face Primers - Mascara/Eyeliner/Liquid Eyeliners - Lipsticks/Lipglosses/Lip stains - Eyeshadows/Cream eyeshadows - Dazzle dusts/shimmery/glitters - Fake eyelashes/eyelash glue - Blushers/Bronzers/Highlighters/Contours. It's so much easier to find things, and now i can see what colours i have and what colours i need. It was only £20 and it really doesn't take up that much room.. I must take a photo!
* I have a busy few weeks ahead, from driving lessons, driving test, parties, make-up jobs, foot surgery, and resting. Yes, i said foot surgery! Even the word 'surgery' is scarey. Due to working in a factory working 24 hours in 2 days with very small padding in my safety shoes to protect my toes from touching the metal in them, have destroyed my poor toes, and i have had to wear flip flops in this horrible weather, as even one day of wearing closed in shoes.. my toes hurt so much they thump with pain. Many appointments with the 'ingrown toe' lady, and they refuse to heal! A LOT of money spent on antibiotics.. nothing works. Now i have an appointment for next week to go to Hospital and have part of my nails removed. EWWWW. I'm just dreading the needle..
In other news.. I am hoping to buy a car within the next 2 weeks, i've been saving up for 2 months now, Dad has chipped in to help afford a half decent car and insure it too. So, fingers crossed!
I'm sure i'll post photo's when i get it :)

Jewellery to sell.

Ok, so i have a few pieces of jewellery that i need to get rid of, anything interesting that you can think of i can do with it? =/

So first, i have this gold heart shaped necklace, probably been worn once.

Next i have a D&G Necklace, not too sure if it is real or not, as it was a gift. I like the dog tag effect.

Couldn't get a very clear photo of this as it's silver and pretty shiney. Sorry!

I have more photo's to upload, but my laptop is REALLY slow..

Just an update..

Ok, so i wanted to update this blog a bit to keep you all updated.. I know i say 'all' and i have only 2 followers but those of you who are members of my Facebook page and just read this time to time, this goes to you guys too. (Click on the word 'Facebook' to go to my page).

So first;
Work:
♡ I am currently working Monday - Friday full time until Christmas, so please, if anyone wants to book up please don't request during the day. I will however, be happy to do evenings any time after 6pm if it is for a Party/Wedding.. etc.
Minimised Make-Up:
♡ I have found a new way of keeping my whole make-up kit condensed! It's very time consuming, but it's sooo handy. I've minimised all of my lipsticks, powders, blushers, and eye shadows (soon to be pigments too) into a very neat palette, all are labelled as they are all plain black outside. It's perfect. I will put a photo of them up, just in case any of you have troubles putting your little eyeshadow pots all together without taking up so much room!
Bye Bye Make-Up:
♡ Next, i will not be able to purchase any more make-up until after Christmas :( BOO! As i have to save all of my money for a new car, which will then enable me to travel to you guys! Instead of making my Ma drive me everywhere! - but if i see something stupidly cheap on Ebay/MAC, i will NOT hesitate to purchase it :)
Selling Jewellery:
♡ I have some jewellery that i would like to sell, not much mind you, but i don't just want to upload it on Ebay like any other boring person, i want to do something fun with it, make a competition, or something, but i need to make money from it also =/ Hmm, i'll have to think about it.
New Leaflets:
♡ Really need to photocopy my leaflets and design a new one too, but there's just not enough hours in the day at the moment! I will use my originals for the rest of the year, but i will have a brand new lot at the beginning of the year. I will post a copy of my leaflets onto Facebook, which is where most of my 'fans' are.

Poison Ivy Look!:
♡ Most of my 'fans' on Facebook will know that i did a survey a while back about what look to do next and post on my page, but due to ordering in Kong Kong ..(i know) i haven't received the red wig that i need to complete the look! I will keep you up to date. Complaints are going their way!

So, while i have time, i thought i'd do a post about how long you should keep your make-up, to prevent sticky icky things on your eyes and lips, and all sorts of diseases!!. Eww.


♡Cream or Compact Foundation: 18 months

♡Concealer : 12-18 months

♡Powder (Pressed or Loose): 2 years

♡Blush and Bronzer: 2 years

♡Cream Blush: 12-18 months

♡Powder Eye shadow: 2 years

♡Cream Eye shadow: 12-18 months

♡Eyeliner: 2 years

♡Liquid eyeliner: 3-6 months

♡Mascara: 3 months

♡Lipstick: 2 years

♡Lip liner: 2 years

♡Lip gloss: 18-24 months

♡Nail Color: 1 year

If you mainly use natural cosmetics, then i recommend you throw these out sooner. Regular cosmetics contain ingredients that do help to prolong shelf life.

A little tip; As i'm a Make-Up artist, i always make sure that i will NEVER use an out of date product on my clients, so i put an expiry date on them so i know when to throw them out. x

Guys.. I need some new ideas!!

Been looking through quite a lot of photo's online from modelling websites etc. I was going to copy and paste them on here and get you to choose one, but i don't think that's a good idea. I don't like to copy other people's make-up styles, i believe everyone has their own way of applying make-up, and copying just isn't inspirational at all, and if it looks different to the original i'm bound to have someone say mine looks worse.. etc.
So i'm just going to ask if anyone has any ideas?

I'm open to them all!! x

I was sooo excited to do my first photoshoot, with 3 lovely ladies who wanted some really nice photo's of themselves. I tried to do each girl differently, mainly for portfolio purposes. Here is a few photo's which i really LOVE!
